Our ideal candidate is an artist who is a true 3DS Max generalist. A highly motivated and creative person who is proficient in multi-tasking to meet production deadlines. Must have strong Modeling, Animation, and Lighting skills and versed in V-Ray 6 or newer rendering technology. The artist will create a wide variety of models for architecture, props, vehicles, and general organic elements. The candidate MUST thrive on working together with a small team where every member is involved throughout the production process. We believe that a small, focused, and dedicated team of talented people can create amazing work.
Location
Ideally based in Montana (Flathead Valley or Missoula preferred), but open to remote candidates who are willing to relocate or spend significant time in Montana over the long term.
Job Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D environments and props that complement the art direction and style desired and inspired by both the client and architecture
- Create detailed, accurate animations for our scenes
- Work with art leads and designers to plan, layout, and execute the vision
- Artists must be able to work independently or in small groups to trouble-shoot and provide solutions to production issues related to asset creation and world building
- Ability to work in observance of the project budget and schedule, while remaining capable of adapting to shifting priorities
- Collaborate with Project Managers and fellow animators to maintain an efficient and successful production process
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent professional certification preferred but not required
- 5-6 years of experience with 3DS Max as a Generalist
- Possess strong 3D modeling/texturing skills using 3DS Max
- Possess strong character/vehicle animation skills using 3DS Max
- Adobe product proficiency (i.e. Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro)
- Works well under pressure
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to art and production needs
- Acceptance of feedback and/or criticism in a professional manner
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-motivated individual with a willingness to continue to learn
- MUST have a strong portfolio showcasing most recent work
Desired Skills
- Material creations, lighting and rendering with V-Ray 5 or newer
- Highly proficient in 3dsmax since its the main tool we use
- Understanding of the gpu/cpu rendering
- Deadline is a plus (will train)
- Forest Pack Pro (can train on this)
- Basic understanding of Phoenix FD (will train)
- Knowledge of animating in Chaos Vantage is a huge plus
- Experience in Unreal Engine 5 is a huge plus
